For people looking to acquire new skills, whether because they have recently been promoted at work, want to advance their career or are a student or senior looking to expand their knowledge, micro-credentials are a simple solution. “I find that they are helpful for people who are looking to quickly learn a new skill,” said Minette Klazinga, the program manager of part-time studies at Fanshawe College, which has multiple campuses across Ontario. The college is one of several institutions across Canada that offer micro-credentials, which are fast, focused learning opportunities that can usually be completed in a short period of time and cover a diverse range of subjects.
