Butler University and the NCAA have launched a free online certificate program to educate high school counselors about the NCAA eligibility process. The program is structured to be a “one-stop shop” and will include a series of online modules. “High school counselors have very full plates, and expecting them to keep up with ever-changing NCAA eligibility requirements is somewhat unrealistic,” Stephanie Hinshaw, associate vice president of transformation at Butler, said in a news release. “At Butler, we have quite a bit of experience in developing certificate programs and other lifelong learning curricula, and we were excited about the opportunity to work alongside the NCAA Eligibility Center to make it easier for high school counselors to support their student-athletes.”
