Lakeland University is expanding access to college credit by awarding academic credits for work experience completed through Wisconsin’s Youth Apprenticeship program. Eligible students can earn three cooperative education credits for prior learning, or up to nine credits if they enroll at Lakeland as degree-seeking students. The initial three credits may also transfer to other colleges and universities that accept them. To qualify, students must complete a state-approved youth apprenticeship, which includes at least 450 hours of paid, work-based learning over 12 months.
